Angola Falls to Japan Ahead of Tokyo Pocket Tournament

ANGOLA lost to Japan, 72-68, in a tune-up game as the team shifted its training camp to Japan with the Fiba Basketball World Cup approaching.

Jilson Bango, who plays professional basketball in Germany, had 14 points and 12 rebounds for the Angolan side that is now in Japan for a pocket tournament at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo where France and Slovenia will also be playing.

Tough run continues for Angola

Angola is one of the three opponents of Gilas Pilipinas in the Fiba Basketball World Cup. They will be pitted against each other on Aug. 27.

The African side is fresh from its campaign in the King’s Cup in Jordan where they lost all three of their games.

In Tokyo, Angola will face Japan on August 15, France on August 17, and Slovenia on August 19.
