Kazakhstan and Korea are keen in investing together


Vice Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Dinara Shcheglova met with the adviser to the project manager of the Fresh Wind program under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of the Republic of Korea Zhu Hyun-baek, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of developing and strengthening long-term mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries. The Deputy Minister expressed interest and hope for fruitful cooperation and invited investors from the Republic of Korea to jointly implement investment projects in Kazakhstan.

Speaking about the implementation of the Fresh wind project, the vice minister noted the successful implementation of the agreements between Kazakhstan and Korea under this program.

“Korea is one of the largest economic partners of Kazakhstan. I would like to note the successful implementation of the agreements between Kazakhstan and Korea within the framework of the program. In particular, the construction of a Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan LLP plant for the production of Hyundai brand cars in Almaty, the implementation of a memorandum of cooperation between the Khorgos-Eastern Gate SEZ and the Busan Port Authority. Also, the national company Kazakh Invest is working on the implementation of a project for the construction of modular greenhouses in the North Kazakhstan region. In addition, today our specialists are carrying out further work to update the implementation of the Fresh wind program,” shared Dinara Shcheglova.

In turn, Advisor to the project manager of the Fresh Wind program Ch.Kh. Peck spoke about the economic potential of the country and voiced mutually beneficial proposals in the areas of industry, subsoil use and geology, and in the field of roads. Issues related to the implementation of the Fresh Wind program were also discussed.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed their gratitude for the business conversation and stressed the importance of further development of relations between Kazakhstan and Korea.
